Brindleleaf
The orange, brown, and white she-cat trotted half way into the Warriors Den. She paused to inhale the scent of the comforting den and her spine tingled as the smell took control over her nostrils. She settled into her nest and purred softly as sleep started to fall over her.
Brindleleaf started to groom her fur when all the sudden, she noticed she wasn't the only cat in the den. Her eyes went wide and she nearly jumped out of her fur. Her eyes scanned the den and she noticed that the cat was only Silentstep. Her fur lie flat on her body and she let out a sigh of relief. Oh, I'm sorry, Silentstep. Brindleleaf mewed as she groomed the fur down on her chest. I didn't notice you were there. She curled her tail around her body as she settled more comfortably into her nest and set her gaze on Silentstep. She was no longer sleepy, the surprise to find another cat had woken her up enough.

silentstep don't fall asleep, you'll never wake up Silentstep groaned and twitched an ear at her voice. Like anyone would notice me.
He turned his head opposite to fixate her in his vision. Not that, he really could care at the moment.
I'm tired.
I want the voices in my head to just shut up so I can doze off for a few precious moments.
Usually his lack of sleep didn't affect him like this. Why now? Why wouldn't they just shut their traps.
A small was spread across his muzzle. "Hello, Brindleleaf. I'm sorry, I can leave." His brief moment of happiness faded as he rose to his paws. A tuff of his puffy neck fur was poking him in the face, and it frankly irritated him to no end.
Silentstep turned, hissed slightly through clenched teeth and tried to flatten his odd fur.
See, this is what exhaustion and screaming friends in your head does. It gets you extremely irritated at little things.
"I think I'll go take a walk, if I'm being a bother."

Brindleleaf She twitched her ears at his response and frowned. No, no. She tried to reassure him. You're absolutely no bother to me! The she-cat thought for a moment with her head cocked to one side. But, if you would like to sleep, I will be glad to leave you to it so you won't be so rude like somebody stepped on your tail. There was a slight hiss in her voice but she was right.
There was no need for the rudeness but she guessed it was her fault, of course. She didn't know something else could possibly be bothering him. Brindleleaf sighed and stood, stretching her front legs. The muscles under her strong legs rippled slightly but it was a great sight. She always kept in shape but it was nothing really she tried to hard at.
Brindleleaf regained her focus back on Silentstep, her eyes burning like flames. I will leave, don't want to be a bother to you. She mewed as she flicked her tail behind her and started walking to the den entrance.

silentstep don't fall asleep, you'll never wake up Silentstep paused at the entrance to the warriors den. Not really on purpose, just that, his voices were traumatizing him.
The fire.
They screamed- shrieked in painful wails of terror. They shouted- keep the fire away.
Keep it away.
Silentstep let a small whimper escape his clenched teeth. It wasn't just her eyes; it felt as if his mind was going to explode.
He wanted to kill the burning ember in her eyes, and the phrase that came out of his mouth was not his doing. "I-if you're getting up, would you come with me? I-it's s-safer to go out with another cat an-n-yway." Stuttering was another result of the pain and small panic attacks he got when his friends deiced to scream.
Even though he was not fully aware- or really approved of what he had asked, he whispered silently in his mind;
W-what, is that? In my stomach? It feels like butterflies.

Brindleleaf Brindleleaf, her eyes narrowed into a piercing glare, watched as the tom paused at the entrance. Her fur pricked slightly at her shoulders. Why don't you leave if you want to get away from me so bad? Stupid furball... She thought as she lashed her tail behind her as she looked Silentstep from his tail to the tip of his nose. Her muscles relaxed a bit at how handsome he was.
But they immediately got tense all over again as he said those words. But no, the tense of her muscles was not of anger, it was of surprise and a rush of different emotions. Er..Sure, Silentstep. She stammered as she looked confusingly at the tom. Brindleleaf pushed past him through the entrance and as she did that, her tail flicked him softly on his flank.

silentstep don't fall asleep, you'll never wake up A small huff broke the silence that hung in the air. Silentstep had sighed, as if he had been holding a breath; awaiting her answer.
The Riverclan warrior froze at her gentle touch. It sent a cold chill that ran up his spine- raising his fur; and a heat flash that fled to the tip of his ears.
This, this did not help his condition.
See, the voices don't particularly like others that had control over their headquarters. And Brindleleaf- she had a minor control over his emotions.
Well- minor could change soon.
The gray tabby wanted to meow a purr of 'thanks' but his voice had failed him. Simply- he slowly emerged from the den and padded after Brindleleaf, the pretty multi-colored she-cat with his head lowered to the ground.
"Where do you want to go?" Silentstep had managed to find his voice but it was a weak one. He beamed slightly up at Brindleleaf with a slight color sparking his eyes.

Brindleleaf She glanced back to check if the tom was following her, but he didn't immediately and that gave her time to think a few things through
Why did I let him slide with his rudeness? She had no idea. Why did he all the sudden seem so handsome to me? She still did not know. What the hell is wrong with me?! Her thoughts screamed and her heart was racing. She shook her thoughts from her head and calmed herself down.
When she spotted Silentstep finally follow her from the den, she smiled and a purr escaped her mouth as she waited for the tom to catch up to her. Let's just stay right here, it's better then traveling too far in case it rains. She gestured with a flick of her tail to the cloudy and wet-looking sky. Brindleleaf crouched to the ground and started kneading the ground with her paws as she got comfortable enough to stay as long as she needed to with Silentstep.

silentstep don't fall asleep, you'll never wake up Silentstep trailed behind the she-cat as he padded behind the she-cat into the forest.
Part of him protested against her chosen spot. He really wanted to go to the river- to feel its cool water lapping at his paws.
Still, he watched Brindleleaf intensely as she kneaded the ground.
He didn't want to be still.
He couldn't, he felt like he would be sucked into his mind if he did.
Silentstep paused, letting himself drown in the fresh senses of the air. His voices seemed to have calmed down, thank Starclan.
But...why?
Was it, her? Silentstep eyed the warrior curiously; fighting to not slip back into his terror remembering the flames. They seemed to have died down.
"Stay here." He murmured quietly and bounded swiftly away. Foliage and undergrowth crowed the ground as he sinked through the forest. Where is it.
"Ah."
Silentstep gazed warmly; seeming oh so less distant now at a bundle of small white flowers. He found them fascinating. He clawed inexpertly at one of the bases of the flowers.
Letting his voices drown the doubt and fear from his mind, Silentstep bounded up on the lowest branch on the nearest tree. He pounced unstably from branch to branch.
As he neared the she-cat he felt his voices grow louder, and eventually hesitant gnawed at his pelt. Do it, flea-brain.
He sagged down on one of the lowest branched which dropped down a few feet away from Brindleleaf.
With the flower clenched in his jaws he cleared his throat.

Brindleleaf The tri-colored cat watched Silentstep as he stood uneasily like he couldn't just stand there with her. Her eyes clouded with disappointment and looked to the ground. She couldn't help thinking that he didn't want to really be around here. Her tail wrapped around her body and her ears laid flat against her head, her eyes still not moving from the ground. The only movement from her was the slight occasional flick of the tip of her tail.
Brindleleaf looked up as Silentstep spoke, her ears pricked curiously at his words. He said "Stay here." and she did as she was told, although she didn't like it that much, she guessed she would ruin it if she followed him. The she-cat hissed in impatience as she waited for him to get back. Where is he.... She said silently as she continued to wait for him to come back. Would he come back? She thought as she laid her head on her front paws.
As she heard rustling near her and a cat who cleared their throat, she looked up in time to see Silentstep in front of her with a white flower in front of her. Silentstep... She breathed. The cat couldn't believe what he had brought back to her, the flower was beautiful and it made her heart race, no other cat had ever been so nice to her. What..what is this? Brindleleaf stammered. The Warrior looked from the flower to Silentstep's eyes.
She took a hesitant step towards him then got closer as she regained her focus. She nuzzled his cheek and purred lovingly in his ear. Thank you, this is very sweet of you. She purred as she gently took the flower from his jaws. It was too sweet of him, and she loved it.

silentstep don't fall asleep, you'll never wake up Silentstep purred sightly through the delicate flower clenched in his jaws. He let it fall beautifully towards the ground- admiring it as it floated, caressing the air.
The gray tom leaped from the sagging branch and landed clumsily on the earth beneath.
He felt another purr rumble his chest as he smiled.
Yes, Silentstep smiled at her.
For a brief moment, he forgot his voices that roared in the back of his mind.
But, only for a moment.
They erupted again, and spat at her.
She'll betray you, Silentstep.
She'll leave you alone in the dark- Silentstep.
Silentstep cringed- fire had returned and he let out a small wail, turned tail and sped through a bush into the night.
Why....why can't they leave me alone?!

Brindleleaf The Warrior gazed at Silentstep as he smiled at her. That was a first. For the time that she had been Warriors with Silentstep, she didn't ever think of a time when he smiled. It just wasn't him, she guessed. Did that make me...special? She thought to herself as her heart skipped a beat.
As she was caught off guard by the newest emotion she was feeling, she didn't hear the wail the tom let out. But as she looked at him and noticed the fear in his eyes, he turned away from her and ran away through the bushes. Brindleleaf stared into the bush with distress and a new feeling in her heart. She felt like she had been abandoned. Silentstep....? She whispered inaudibly into the bushes, her heart slowly breaking. She didn't know what she did, but she knew she was growing quite angry with Silentstep. Brindleleaf let out a hiss and her claws unsheathed as she stalked to the Warriors den. I hate you now... She painfully rasped.
